Goals of the Centre
ViCAS offers space for deep, undisturbed research in one of Europe’s most stimulating cities. A year spent with fellows from diverse disciplines can be a transformative experience—both intellectually and personally.
The Centre aims to:
- establish a dynamic space for international and interdisciplinary academic exchange, designed to inspire groundbreaking research approaches and innovative ideas;
- provide a stimulating intellectual environment for academics at all career stages, with specific opportunities for collaboration and mentorship for early-career researchers;
- promote the exchange of knowledge and ideas beyond academia.
Our Fellowship Programmes
Each year, ViCAS offers up to ten Senior Fellowships and ten Early-Career Fellowships to outstanding international scholars from all academic fields who pursue ambitious, curiosity-driven projects, including those that transcend disciplinary boundaries.
We are excited by the overwhelming response to our call for the inaugural 2026–2027 cohort. We are currently reviewing all submissions and expect to notify applicants at the very latest by the end of 2025.
